Kuca pjesnick (The Poet’s House) is wonderful stone traditionally built house. It is situated in a beautiful small remote cove called Rukavac on the south side of Viz. Rukavac is about 10 minutes by car from Viz town and 20 minutes from Komiza, the two population centres on the island. The house stands with three other inhabited dwellings (and some uninhabited ruins) literally 5 metres from the waters edge and enjoys its own mooring. The property can be reached from the cliff top, car park five minutes down a large set of steps to the cove and house. We recommend that the steps are not suitable for children under 8. Taxis can be flagged down from Viz harbour and will drop you at the car park in old Rukavac. Two good restaurants (one waterside) are within 10 minutes walking distance, and a small general store can be found within 20 minutes. More extensive shopping and restaurants options are available both in Viz town and Komiza. We recommend this lovely house for people who love beautiful vistas, the sound of the sea, the smell of wild herbs and peace and tranquillity. Writers and artists who have stayed in the house have told us that Kuca Pjesnick is an inspiring place to be. Please enjoy our site and we look forward to hearing from you. |
